Hockey. As I see it.

I'm a goalie. Pretty cool, right? Well, okay maybe not as cool as I think it is, but I have a good time with it. I've been playing hockey most of my life, and it's totally one of the main things I identify myself as. A hockey player. A goalie.

I'm not just a hockey player, I'm also a really big hockey fan. As far back as I can remember, my life has been filtered through the eyes of the New Jersey Devils. (Hence the jersey ------->)

Right now the Devils (hereafter referred to as "we") are in a tough spot in the playoffs. As I write this, we're down 3-0 in a best of seven series with the Carolina Hurricanes. We swept the Rangers 4-0 in the first round, so going into this series I was really confident. Carolina (however dirty its individual players may be) is a really good team, and even coming off a 15-game winning streak, we still haven't been able to take a game away from them. We'll see how this series ends up, I won't stop watching. I believe...

People always ask me why I love hockey so much. They say it's impossible to find the puck when you watch it on TV, that there are too many rules, that it's boring, etc. I have never been able to come up with an answer to that question. For those who love hockey, no explanation is needed; for those who don't, no explanation will ever do. It's a part of me.

More to come soon...
